Donald Scavia, SNRE professor and director of the Graham Environmental Sustainability Institute, is one of 38 experts on the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River region urging lawmakers to update the 1972 Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement.  As the United States and the Canada celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Boundary Waters Treaty this week, the experts argued that revisions to the Water Quality Agreement are crucial to maintaining the health of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence ecosystem.
