Dean Bierbaum shares views on federal science policy on NPR's 'Science Friday'

February 18, 2008

Rosina M. Bierbaum, dean of the School of Natural Resources and Environment at the University of Michigan, appeared on a panel last week on the nationally broadcast NPR program, “Science Friday.” Dean Bierbaum was one of four panelists asked by show host Ira Faltow to discuss the topic, “The Federal Government and Science.”

The show examined ways to strengthen science in the federal government by exploring issues such as how scientists and policymakers make sure the president gets sound science advice; ways to ensure the federal scientists can communicate their findings; and how citizens can encourage Congress to tackle tough science-based issues such as climate change policy and funding for stem cell research.
