This is 40-minute podcast recording of the September 19, 2008 session of the Grantsmanship and Funding Workshop Series--Funding Overview, EPA, and NSF fellowships. In the beginning Professor Bill Currie speaks about funding in general and you need to turn the volume up to hear him. Amanda Bednarz does an overview of the EPA and NSF funding opportunities focusing on the Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) and Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grants DDIG) from NSF.  Bill Currie then talks about the review process, the nature of fellowships, and gives advice on writing successful proposals. It’s helpful to visit the websites of SNRE-Financial Aid, EPA, and NSF to follow along as well as look at the following information sheets.

GSI Application and Selection Process

A Power Point presentation was made on September 25, 2009 as part of the 2009 Grantsmanship and Funding Workshop series. Presenters were Beth Hill from the Program in the Environment (PitE) and Diana Woodworth, SNRE's Financial Aid Coordinator.  Topics covered:  the on-line SNRE/PitE GSI application process, selection process, and responsibilities and obligations once you are selected.   Additional topics included GSRA appointments, the Teacher Certificate, temporary and work study employment opportunitires.
