A gift of $2 million endows a senior faculty appointment to a professorship with tenure in the School of Natural Resources and Environment Such an appointment is made by the Dean and commended to the University Board of Regents by the Provost and Chief Academic Officer. Endowed professorships are reserved for scholars of national and often international stature, who have made major contributions to the academic discipline of public policy and whose record of teaching, research, and publication is highly distinguished.
The School of Natural Resources and Environment have the following fully endowed professorships:
- Peter M. Wege Chair in Sustainable Systems, held by Jonathan Bulkley
- Samuel Trask Dana Professor of Environment and Behavior, held by Rachel Kaplan
- George Willis Pack Professorship of Forest Entomology, held by John Witter
- Theodore Roosevelt Chair of Environmental Management, held by Michael Wiley
